This story is an Apocalyptic LitRPG.
Rockland Barkclay has had a rough year, he recently retired, after realizing his sports career isn't going to burgeon into superstardom or even mild stardom. On top of that massive life change, his father just passed, and he has been left to go on their annual trip to Algonquin Park alone.
During a late night bender and soul excursion for a future, his father would be proud of. His last year of pain and suffering is rudely drowned in a sea of cosmic energy that governs the universe.
Ether the driving force of creation has returned. Gaia has awakened, and the world will never be the same again.
