The Ceo's Shadow

On our special wedding day, as Book 2 of "The CEO's Secretary" unfolded, the kind priest, who had greeted us with a warm smile since early morning, united our hands and asked Jason, "Do you solemnly promise to take Lexi Tyler as your legally wedded wife, promising to support and cherish her, through thick and thin, wealth or adversity, in sickness and health, loving and committing to her till death do you part?" Our eyes met, and Jason took a deep breath before answering, "I do." The priest then turned to me, asking the same heartfelt question, "Will you, Lexi Tyler, accept Jason Stokes as your lawful husband, promising to stand by him, weathering all life's challenges, good times and bad, financial gains and hardships, in health and sickness, to love and honor him till death do you part?" Looking into Jason's eyes, which betrayed a hint of apprehension, I replied, "I will." However, those vows we exchanged that day were not the foundation upon which our marriage would stand. Unbeknownst to everyone, Jason proved to be a deceitful and unfaithful partner.
