After being betrayed by his destined mate, Alpha Mason resolves to carry on as a solitary Alpha. Devoted to his pack, he isolates himself, which worsens when his friends, like Kai, start settling down. When Kai gets engaged, Mason reluctantly joins his friends for a celebration in the human world. They end up at a bar where Mason can't help but be drawn to one of the dancers, Gi-Gi. As the night progresses, Mason finds an opportunity to chat with Gi-Gi while she dances, and she captivates him with her charm. Her presence keeps haunting Mason's thoughts, making him return to the bar just to see her. Can there be a genuine connection – a friendship – between a powerful Alpha and a talented dancer? However, there might be more to Gianna than meets the eye. Will Mason risk getting hurt again or will their encounter be a healing force for both of them?

I have no idea why some people in comments further down are apparently praising the ending, when the story literally ended abruptly a few chapters into another arc. Although many of the plot threads had been resolved, many others weren't, and this story was clearly planned to be a much longer epic that was sadly cut short.
What's there is fun and well written for a xianxia system novel (provided you can stand a blatantly OP main character), but it is most definitely cut short, and you won't get a big payoff.
