In the heart of Akkadia, the line between love and destiny is blurred by the will of the gods. Yacha, a newly recruited warrior in the elite Seiken army, never imagined his future would be shaped by the memory of a forgotten love. Sent on a dangerous mission alongside his comrades, Yacha encounters Shino—an enigmatic, legendary warrior known as the Slayer of Nergal. To his shock, Shino stirs memories from his past, memories of a bond that transcends time. As Yacha grapples with his resurfacing feelings, he and Shino discover that their reunion is no mere coincidence. Hidden deep within the ancient forest they’re sent to patrol lies the key to an ancient mystery—the gods' true plans for Akkadia. What begins as a mission to protect their kingdom quickly turns into a journey to unravel the divine forces at play. Together, Yacha and Shino abandon the Seiken army, determined to seek the truth. As their forgotten love reignites, they must defy kings, armies, and the very gods themselves in a race to uncover a cosmic conspiracy that threatens not only Akkadia, but the world itself. Tales of Akkadia is a sweeping tale of love, destiny, and rebellion, where forgotten memories may hold the power to change the future—and the gods may not be who they seem.

I have no regrets reading this captivating book. It is well written. However, it would be nice if it had whose POV was given because sometimes the switch between Byron’s and Isla’s POV wasn’t clear. Glad that the ending wasn’t rushed.
