In the depths of her profound sorrow, Sirena's tear-filled eyes strained to meet the cold-hearted figure before her. With quivering lips, she spoke softly, "I am not a mere toy to be controlled; I am a person, with dreams and aspirations that transcend the limits of our arranged marriage. I possess emotions, deep and complex."
Yet, he remained unyielding, his gaze devoid of compassion. "You are a contracted wife, destined to serve and fulfill my every whim," he replied harshly, dismissing her aspirations and emotions as trivial. "Your desires and feelings are insignificant, so long as they do not disrupt the surface-level harmony of our union..."
His callousness only plunged her into deeper despair, and he seemed to relish in her pain. Mockingly, he said, "No need to cry, my dear. Years lie ahead, filled with regret and punishments that await you. You dream of fairy tales, but this is your reality, your personal 'Hell in Paradise,' Wife."
...
The question of how and where it all began, dear reader, is a valid inquiry.
It all started in the cutthroat world of Los Angeles, where a struggling romance novelist like Sirena found herself entangled in a deceptive game of love and power. She agreed to marry the arrogant heir of the illustrious Crown Dynasty, believing it was merely a financial transaction.
Three years passed, or so she thought, before an unforeseen turn of events pulled her between the conflicting emotions she felt for her cruel husband and the inexplicable attraction towards a mysterious figure, his identity veiled by a mask.
Amidst extravagant parties and luxurious gatherings, Sirena became ensnared in a treacherous web of love, loyalty, and hidden motives. Secrets, forbidden passions, and betrayals lurked around every corner, threatening to unravel the delicate threads of her newfound connection.
And that connection – with whom? Even this author, eager to uncover the truth, wonders alongside you.

*Evaluation written at chapter 105*This is a real hidden gem ! I usually like my reviews to be long and detailed, so for those of you who want to read my wandering thoughts, just read this : if you are tired of omniscient killing machines MCs with a dumbass system, this western view on eastern cultivation fantasy is very worth trying !don'tOnce in a while, just when you look through all the trashy generic novels being picked up on this site everyday and decide it is a waste of time to search for a new readable novel, you stumble on something that makes you think "well, maybe there is still hope around here after all..."This novel is one of those times.First of all, at least for me, NO FARKING SYSTEM ! The characters are talented, yes, but that's it. After that, they can only grow stronger with continuous hard work. No robotic voice in your head gifting you with a divine cultivation technique, a godly fist art or a heaven-grade flaming sword every two days. Just hard work. Basic, maybe too blunt for some, but precisely what I am looking for.The writing quality is the second big plus for me. I remember Chalky say it's his first novel, and God I wish I could write like that. The pacing is perfect, quite slow but I think it is the only way to truly bring life to the characters. They are very well written, each with their own distinct personality. The MC is not a mass psychopathic slaughterer, as so many others. In fact he could even be considered a good guy, just that he grew up getting used to obeying orders. Whatever they may be... but I have a feeling that may change in the future. He does not win every fight, and he doesn't always make the best decisions. Some comments say he is weak and stupid. I say he is human. And still a rather strong one. His main abilities and the techniques he acquires are are quite interesting, very unusual for the genre but quite well thought through. The story so far is interesting, and the world quite solid. However, as of now (chapter 105), the MC is just strong enough to start to have a real view on the continent and knows very little of what lies beyond. No arrogant young master needing a faceslap so far either as all characters, friends and foes, are rather well built and coherent. So is it perfect ? Obviously no, nothing is. But for now it is a damn good novel, and a refreshing version of eastern cultivation I, for one, very much needed. So thank you Chalky, and keep up the good work !0 0 Reply

Very good novel. It has some rough spots with grammar and words, but is overall an amazing story. Jack is realistic and feels like a real person. The world around him also feels real, mainly because of how oddly gray it is with morals. I hope to see more.0 0 Reply

(2+1+1+3+2)/5=1.8the story is as bad as the title. a lot of cliched script and interaction.dumb development. and more.editing is good to be fair.just think Pokemon with all of Ash's dumb moments and multiply that by 10. you might be a little less annoyed than I am and maybe as disappointed0 0 Reply
