In the upper planes of the immortal world. The deities had created a world filled with wonders beyond belief. They could fly to other countries, eat food at any season they wanted and create new creatures. Yet, they could not cure their own diseases.
Melvin is a terminal cancer patient. One day, a charity that granted wishes approached the seven year old Melvin.
Young deities only have a fleeting moment of existence and Melvin's parents wanted to fulfill his wishes.
So, he told them, holding up a picture that he drew: "I want Pendraguin to exist."
Thus a new creature was left to roam the mortal realm.
Behold the calamity of a penguin crossed with a dragon that was given a conscience.
May the simplest things in life become outrageously stupid.

I meant reckless.
Being forced to a situation doesn't mean you're reckless and there's nothing wrong with plot armor for these kind of situation.
What my first comment meant was, the type of mc who recklessly risking his life (and others) on a whim.
For example
So there's 2 level 100 guy fighting, the mc party is average level 5, knowing the danger is immense and there's totally chance for his party member dying, he still goes there because reason like "there might be treasure there"
This is different from mc party just traveling than suddenly got caught in high level being fight and trying to survive
First is intentionally seeking death betting on plot armor to save the day
The second is being forced to a situation where death might come, while maybe also get treasure
