Completed: When Cole Fletcher, the Earl of Tonfield, made an unexpected decision to leave his recently married wife, Emily, at Blakewood Manor, he never imagined she'd take matters into her own hands by moving in and challenging his expectations. As word of her actions spread through high society, Cole struggles to maintain control while Emily fights for recognition as his wife, Countess, and a woman with her own voice. As Emily's cheeks flushed, she felt her heart race under his intense gaze. She could see the heat rising in his eyes, his gaze lingering on her lips, almost mesmerizing her. With his jet-black hair inches from her face, Emily found herself yearning to touch it. The atmosphere was electric, and her chest rose and fell rapidly beneath her gown. In that moment, their connection seemed to sizzle, and Emily parted her lips, ready for whatever might happen. However, in a sudden turn of events, Cole hesitated, their eyes locked in a silent battle. He stepped back abruptly, releasing the tension, leaving Emily breathless and bewildered.

I didn't do it. The person that voted down your comment may not realize the affect or that the down vote is a negative to the poster. It's difficult to think of this way, did the up votes mean they liked the death of the author vs the down vote is their dislike of the death. That's why I appreciate your comment and letting us know the situation, but I was too conflicted with my thoughts on the vote to give it any vote at all.
