In big parts, an anti-Japanese pamphlet, even though it’s paraphrased as “Sakura”.While I certainly acknowledge the horrible crimes that chinese people suffered during japanese occupation, this ”novel” amounts to racism and misogyny.Also, literally!, it is said “forgiveness is treason!”. If this philosophy prevailed, we would fight wars forever and ever. Reminds you of the Middle East.Apart from that, this novel is dumbness in words. All happens like set on a railroad, you can tell there whole story in two sentences.Enjoy logic like “the night was dark as ink… a full moon hung up in the sky.” Dunkel war’s, der Mond schien helle.
