From a young age, I knew my destiny was to lead. It was ingrained in both my DNA and that of my ancestors, dating back generations. Our vampire lineage held a centuries-old tradition: we possessed the power to feed on human blood, erasing their memory of the encounter. During the act, we could briefly glimpse into their lives, a snapshot of their existence. The unique quality of our blood was that just a single drop could sustain us for weeks, turning the donor into an eternal bond, often forming a romantic connection. However, in my family, we upheld strict purity, allowing such relationships only as lovers, not as equals in the monarchy. The idea of becoming a monarch vampire was never my choice, nor did I see any alternative. The chances of finding that special blood, or 'donor,' were so slim that many vampires dismissed it as mere legend. Trying every human's blood worldwide was an unrealistic prospect. Most vampires resigned themselves to accepting their fate, including myself. But little did I know, my path would take an unexpected turn in a rather unusual circumstance.
