Alyn is a half breed, the product of a union between an elf and a dwarf, one of the people calling themselves human. He is also a member of the Elanus Task Force Alpha, and while his life was not perfect it was also not terrible, he has Doll after all. She had been abandoned, just another golem that had outlived its purpose and had been discarded, after taking her home and fixing her up the silent automaton refused to leave his side.
When a terrorist starts using golems as suicide bombers, created specifically for the purpose it is up to Alyn and Doll to find the source of their manufacture, and shut down the operation. The only issue is The fact that it is impossible to tell these automatons from real people...
