The Gods are bored. Magic has been gone from the land for 10,000 years due to the Accords, but now that that time has passed the Gods have decided to make things even more interesting to make up for the millennia of boredom. Each God has chosen a candidate from each multiverse to eventually inherit a position in the Pantheon. Only the God with the most successful candidates will remain and become a Pantheon Head.
But they didn't realize that there is still a greater power hidden. That He is waiting. And He wants things to change.
