What is life? Is it entertainment? Is it a flickering flame? Is its reason simply… to progress one's race? Why should one waste their life for others?
What drives people to… do something. Is it their selflessness, or completely selfish desires? They desire more, so they hide their true nature. They attempt hide their selfish intentions by a mask of selflessness.
But nothing is flawless. Something will always leak out. It is impossible to hide it completely. So… selfishness was accepted into society. Everyone had some of it. Most don't need to hide their selfishness, as long as their selfishness promotes someone else's.
But for some people, the nature of their selfishness is truly too horrid. They are called insane, maniacs. But they are the same as everyone else. They are simply selfish for something else. Be it murder… or torture.
People have always been greedy.
