Lilia's goal is to honor her craft and her families' memory, beginning with her father. Armies and Lords want to use her gifts for war. The academies and necromancers see her abilities as a potential method to improve their own crafts. Her friends want to see her stand on her own power. What does she need to do to get away from them all and create art, create memories, and create her own chapter in this new and crazy world?
Violence is never far away from the world that thrives on strength. While goblin raids and monster nests seem to plague this old world with chaos, certain people grow with that chaos. Some build cities for gold or political power; others will forgo civilization entirely on their own route to a profession's peak. And not all masters are benevolent-some are monsters in their own right.
