okay i love this novel, gets a bit cliche when the girl comes in but the mc is batshit crazy which i really like so if you're interested in that i would recommend this

Suddenly, the entire sky turns crimson red. Yuji sees Hirai and everyone else frozen in time as a monstrous creature appears on the scene. It starts draining the very existence out of these humans. Yuji, however, remains unfrozen, forced to witness their horrifying deaths. Then, out of nowhere, a girl with crimson hair and flames in her eyes emerges. He pleads with her for help, and she responds to her gem, "How do I get it to shut up?" The monster attacks but is driven off by this red-haired girl, who lands next to Yuji. The hideous creature suddenly transforms into a beautiful woman, crying as she prepares to escape while the flame-eyed girl watches. Yuji steps in front of the red-haired girl, risking his life to save an innocent. Only for his arm to be slashed off by the red-haired girl herself, leaving him for dead. The lady smirks before fleeing from the flame-eyed girl. Yuji begs the girl to help him, as he doesn't want to die. But if he continues to bleed out... he then notices there is no blood. The crimson-haired girl simply reattaches his arm. Time returns to normal, except now everyone around him, including Hirai, seems drained of the energy they once possessed. Yuji asks the flame-eyed girl what happened and how he survived. "It won't go away," the girl says to her gem. "Explain everything, and then it will leave," the gem named Alastor replies. So the girl tells Yuji, "You are a torch, and they are torches. You are a thing, not human. His existence was taken by that monster a while back, and was replaced by you, the thing called a torch. It helps delay your non-existence, allowing Yuji's existence to fade away more slowly, until no one remembers you, and you never existed."
