    honestly this is pretty retarded. putting weapons entirely aside blacksmiths should be valued highly in ANY kind of medieval society since they make pretty much anything made out of metal. nails, pots etc, HORSESHOES, cutlery, ARMOR, literally every kind of tool, high skilled ones can make jewelry, doog hinges, the list goes on and on and on. they craft literally EVERYTHING made out of metal in a society of that technological level.
