Asura Chapter 18

Author has a high school level understanding of the world. You can tell they had a cool idea and tried to build the world around it, but the execution is horrible and if you just use critical thinking, most themes and ideals make no sense. Like calling an obnoxious character stern when he's just a dick, or saying money is an ability when its just not. The whole structure of the world makes little sense. i.e. the school for adventures. And I wouldn't mind it as much if this was a comedy or if the school wasn't the main focus.
Its also very generic. Following the "main character is shown to be strong and is humbled in a fight, joining a new organization after to get stronger" trope. The characters are just walking problems with very predictable solutions. 3/10
UPDATE: Series was recently dropped by Kakao, do not read unless you see season 2 start somewhere.
TLDR: Worth the read. Solid 7.5+. Maybe wait until S2 starts around December 20th, 2023.
For Current Readers:
So to answer the question of its readers, the manga is currently on Hiatus and will be returning sometime in December unless stated otherwise. I heard December 20th from somewhere, so be patient.
For potential readers:
This series is honestly much better than the title suggests. I wanted to post a review in case this in anyway affects someone reading the series or not. It's worth it. Though maybe wait until December as the S1 finale left off right when the series was moving into a great arc, per usual in the manhwa scene. The reason I'd wait, but you don't have to do what you want, is because S1 is basically a prequel. Yes, important details are given, characters introduced, at least 3-4 plotlines have been started, but it's basically one big prequel. The first major arc starts on Ch44, one chapter before S1 ends.
Synopsis:
Main Character (MC) has grown up supporting his sick/dying father as an unlicensed hunter (raider). A routine mission leads him to cross paths with
Other things aside, but basically season 1 ends with him
For scanlators:
Please don't drop this series. I'd bet money it's going to be one of your most popular series come end of S2.
Rating:
I personally believe ratings should be left only after the the first major arc or the first 50 chapters are completed, but since this series has reached neither I'm going to break my rule. High 7 Low 8. For reference, I gave Bleach 8~8.4.
Rating is dependent on S2, as right now it has the highest potential out of the Shonen I'm currently reading.
Several months have gone by and there isn't any new chapters? Does anyone know any information regarding this.
Have read up to end of season 1 (chapter 45).
I disagree with the previous comment from superman89.
Although it’s a slow paced manhwa, in the sense that the world building and plot settings have to be explained or at least put forward in a way that makes it clear for the reader, this grabs your attention more.
The fact that the high school is not a given makes the protagonist’s effort more engaging. Obvisouly there is an OP element which we’ve already been given clues about by the end of season 1, but in my opinion everything is being drip fed in order to make it more intriguing and worthwhile.
Art is good, fighting scenes are considerably well draw, pacing is decent although some might find it slow, world building is kept simple but follows the usual gate/world changing trope. I think the only thing that I would say is a shame is the menial interaction.
I think it’s definitely worth a read though and will most likely get more intricate as we move on, maybe moving from a mundane world to something far greater.
Warrior High School where in the first season there's actually nothing to do with the Warrior High School. 45 chapters in one season and not much happened. Heck, MC hasn't even started the Warrior High School yet.
Had it's moments but nothing major that makes it stand out from anything else. Although the author sure loves to drag the plot and what a weird way to end the season. If you're bored you might want to check the first season or wait till partly through the second season to get some actual plot content.
