Amamiya Hiroto's life was a series of misfortunes, culminating in a tragic end during a school boat trip. He attempted to save a girl he barely knew but failed. After his death, Hiroto encountered a god of reincarnation who offered the deceased passengers, including the girl he tried to save, a chance to be reborn into another world. Unfortunately, Hiroto's new life was marred by even greater misfortune, his only asset being an immense amount of Mana. This second life proved to be far worse than the first and ended cruelly.
Meeting the god again, Hiroto learned that another reincarnation was already underway and could not be halted. To spare him from enduring yet another painful life, the god cursed Hiroto before his rebirth, hoping he would die quickly or take his own life. Reborn as a dhampir, a half-vampire, half-dark elf, Hiroto was determined not to face a fourth life. He resolved to live this third life using only what remained from his previous existences: Death Magic and his vast pool of Mana.
