So basically you only see him train or eat food or when she decid what she gonna do , 0 character development (funny for a seinen) and 0 romance the only romance you can find in this manga it's the cover and i am not even joking

Don't be fooled by the Romance tag. This is probably the worst cooking manga I've ever read. No romance, no drama, no comedy. It's just a woman feeding a boy for 11 volumes...fun.

This is a very good story of a young person having no drive in life other than baseball, and an adult women whom had lost her drive in life.

She managed the unthinkable (inviting the kid for a food, her number one passion in life) and the two managed to develop together then on.

Over time, she rekindled back her passion (of food and the joy she get from others eating her food) and the kid too obtain a passion (food is no longer just a means to a filled stomach, the act of eating with people... especially with a cherish person, that fact in itself means everything.

Hereon, we... the reader and the main characters of the story will come to an understanding - it is not just about the passion of cooking and eating... whom we did it with is what makes the whole world of differences.

They both comes to greatly appreciate that.

In conclusion? A wonderful story, subtle at that. Some might not appreciate it since it, word that is not written might gets lost for some people.. but to those that can read between the line and understand the atmosphere - it is a good story.

I'm not feeling the romance in this one at all. Its more like a mother watching her son grow. And giving him lunch everyday.

When I started reading "Yakumo-san wa Edzuke ga Shitai", I got this feeling similar to when I read manga or watch anime series like Mushishi; a laid-back, calm experience. Yakumo-san is a young widow with a great love for cooking. Her relationship with a high school boy named Yamato Shouhei started when one night, she invites him over for dinner, since she loves to cook for other people. After that night, Yamato visits nearly everyday to eat Yakumo-san's cooking.

The mood and atmosphere that the manga sets makes you lay back and just enjoy the peaceful story. As time goes on, Yamato and Yakumo's relationship grows more intimate, but not in an ecchi way (there are few kind-of-ecchi moments, though). I put myself in Yamato's place and think how great it would be to have a relationship like that, even though in real life it will turn into hentai asap, I guess. Their relationship for me is more like a mother taking care of his son; at least up until the latest chapter. And I hope it stays this way and doesn't go in the ecchi direction. Let's leave that for doujinshis.

Finally, if you're looking for manga to read and just want to lay back and have a peaceful, calm reading experience, I definitely recommend this series. This is ASMR in form of a manga, if you will.

I read this manga since it popped up in my recommendations section and I was extremely bored. I am not too sure about what my expectations were, but I was pleasantly surprised. The manga follows a slice of life pattern and I was hooked from the beginning. As cecropiamoth said, I am looking forward to how to series progresses since there has been character development in the previous few chapters. Safe to say that I will follow the scanlations closely till the end!

Japan is great at telling stories that flirt with minor breaking of the bounds of standard behavior. Here a lonely young widow is having fun feeding a lonely, determined high school baseball player who hopes to become a star. This general scenario is a familiar setup for hentai, but this manga shows no sign of turning H.

On the other hand, their relationship is gradually growing closer, and that presents the creator of this story with the difficult job of figuring out a way to continue it where this restrained excitement can continue without moving this seinen story outside the ambit of what's acceptable in a non-hentai magazine. I look forward to the developments!

Dear /a/nonymous scans, thank you for this, and please don't drop it if it gets ecchi.
