Read up to chapter 14. Love the dynamics between the dragon and the FL. Their thinking is on the oppsite ends of the spectrum. Dragon sees no problem with revenge. She wants no part of it, and wants to show the dragon humans are not as bad as he thinks. She will have a very difficult time because of who hurt the dragon the most.
She is already changing the story. Some of it she is aware of, and some of it she isn't. She is starting to mature some, and not seeing everything through rose colored glasses. She is seeing that she will not be a damsel that will be saved by someone else. She is starting to work on saving herself, by changing her story.
I love when the dragon appears as a baby. Sooooo cute. I can't wait to see how the author deals with her being extremely moral not wanting to hurt or kill anyone vs the dragon's need for revenge. I seen a little bit where they find some what of a common ground. Now whether they can still find later on or not, I'll have to wait and see.
Also, will the dragon's greatest fear and doubt happen? Will she be able to change his thirst for revenge. The only thing stopping the dragon right now is a completely binding contract with her. Once the contract is up, right now all hell will break loose on the dragon's part.
I have read to chapter 5, at the moment the story has only been giving us a backstory to the characters and nothing has particularly happened in the present.
If you are looking for an in your face, bitter or revenge seeking FL then this book is not for you. The FL here is docile with a strong moral compass for not hurting others. Whether that will change in the future has yet to be seen. At the moment the FL feels she must help the dragon put away his murderous intentions by teaching him through her own actions. The premise of two conflicting morals could be interesting if the author takes some time to play around with it.
The FL wants freedom but doesn't feel it justifies murdering people, while the dragon wants her freedom and feels killing all he dislikes is ok. Both parties are at two extremes on the matter and it would be interesting to see the FL struggle with emotions like hatred, powerlessness, and her own morals, maybe even let her cave one time and deeply regret it. I don't think the author will explore the FL's morals so deeply but my point is that having a kind FL who isn't seeking revenge isn't a bad thing, it just depends on how the author chooses to explore the characters.
For now I leave it at a 5 b.c the characters are not annoying to me and I am curious how the author will explore the characters further.
Female idiot MC with a white knight streak.
