this story is as deep as a puddle. They havent even shown how the citizens are faring in this insane situation. the whole story is just "modern weaponary is superior to medieval arms and armor"; yea no shit. politics are superficial, and the battles are stupid. They claim to want to avoid unnecessery bloodshed, but they only did it once. With this much of a technological gap, you can just scare the enemy into submission. Just have your feel sit in their bays. shelling unoccupied areas. Since we have been shown wyverns dont really do any damage, you can let the enemy see an immovable rock in their way. if their ships get close, disbale them, or shell the sea in front of their path until they get the idea. Are they sending army? Shell the convoys path. You would just appear as gods, impervious to their best efforts, and even the most arrogant king will eventually realize they are living by the mercy of you. Or alternatively you can just fatigue the enemy into submission by many means.
