The MC reminds me of Ciel Phantomhive. A bonafide shota mc. I also like the hair color, quite rare for a main character to have this hair color.

Ahh, the 'Rice is Crack' cliche. Welp, that just made me want to lower the author into a well and seal it off...

I have some issues with this manhwa.

First, the direct lineage / direct descendant thing. Raon is a direct descendant as he is literally the grandson of the patriarch. Saying he's of some cadet branch or not of the main family would make sense,

but his mother abandoning the family name and later returning doesn't change lineage. Also, that Martha girl is not a direct descendant. Again, she can be adopted into the main family, but her lineage doesn't change. She's still the daughter of her commoner parents and thus, not of direct lineage.

Second issue I have: major plothole with

Martha being a repeating trainee. She is often described as extremely talented, determined, and said to have never experienced loss before. If that was the case, how would she have repeated a year? Would that not count as a loss? Would she have even let that happen in the first place with how concerned she is about falling behind?

Yes, these issues are pretty much just mine and I doubt many other people would care, but it is pretty disappointing such glaringly obvious issues weren't caught. Still, it's a decent read if you aren't bothered by these issues.

I'd say it's a solid 8.5/10 manhwa... Except for the biggest, glaring elephant in the room. The System Bullcrap™.

Not only it is terribly designed making it feel very out of place, it also has zero contribution towards the story. You could remove it completely, even while keeping the demon wrath thing, and nothing about the story would change.

First of all don't listen to that other commenter he's an idiot. The status window is actually explained, and pretty decently as well if you keep reading.

For the rest its a nice story and even though he's reborn which is an advantage he also has some rather large debuffs making it fair.

This is, as far as I can tell, supposed to be a serious manga.

In the world of this manga, there is swordsmanship, magic, cultivation, assassins - in fact the MC was an assassin. And he wants revenge.

So, all in all, a pretty serious setup. I've read 3 chapters and so far it has been completely dead serious with absolutely no hint of humor or comedy whatsoever.

Yet out of fucking nowhere, a status window pops up? And there is no explanation given for this whatsoever?

It's not a modern day setting. It's a fantasy world with swords and magic and cultivation and shit. And yet the MC gets a "system" with a "status window" for absolutely no reason?

    wtf is this.

As soon as I saw the status window I just instantly NOPE'D out. This isn't a VRMMO. I can forgive a status window if the MC was originally from Earth and isekai'd into another world. But there is no hint of Earth in this manga. The entire setting is in the fantasy world, the MC lived his entire life in the fantasy world and Earth as far as I can tell doesn't exist in the setting of this manga. So it makes completely no sense whatsoever to have status windows. It just breaks immersion immediately.
