tldr: Do not read this, unless you want to feel huge disappointment.
I don't usually write any reviews or comments, or even rate the titles I read, but this was one of the biggest downfalls I have ever seen.Everything was ok up to chapter ~60-70, not good, not ideal, but ok. Unfortunately, after that things went down very quickly, especially with season 2 start and last chapters of S1. To spend so much time on absurdly useless and uninteresting fights and talks of mob characters and then skip all the best fights? Skip all plot? It also seems like author made MC too powerful and did not really know what to do with him, and because of that everything became just too absurd and non-believable.I think this title had pretty good potential, because the different plot twists are connecting in a quite interesting way and even make sense. But the implementation is just terrible.
Crisp and clean art. Beautifully done.
Predictable storyline and characters.
I do love the whole regression and revenge theme but it’s dragging on a bit. Side characters are not interesting. No romance.
Edited after ch 129 (time skip): Don’t waste your brain cells. Stupid useless MC
First few chapters are good but after like 50 chapters it became worst
RECOMMEND NOT TO READ
as if now
The first 50 or so chapters are good enough, but then chapters become increasingly comprised of generals and politicians blabbering around tables with very little action. Perhaps it gets better later, but I can only stand so many chapters of this.
He didn't specify how boring it is to have half of every chapter either introduce some completely uncontextualized scene that we have no hope of understanding, or have the mc recognize his n-teenth past life friend/enemy. It got to the point where I was just skipping through to scenes that have the mc in them, and I really don't think I was any more lost than anyone else reading this.
Chapter 2, in one of the scanlations, says MC's mother who was a maid (and concubine?) was "forcefully held by Duke Agnus" when MC's background is explained. In those exact, translated words.
This gets downplayed straight into Hell when the MC's father, Duke Rapist, gets more screentime. So, so, so many comments at the scanlator's sites are even praising Duke Rapist for being a badass whenever he shows up. 🤢
Neither is MC even fazed. Has no hard feelings whatsoever when asked by Duke Rapist himself if MC resents him!
Gross.
Dropped.
I like the start of the manga but as soon as MC goes to school it's goes downhill ASAP. After the timeskip it's even worse.
We get bits and pieces of events and characters with no real explanation. We'll get a chapter with this character and the next chapter another character at another place that leaves you scratching your head.
I hear the novel is better but I shouldn't have to read the novel to understand the manga plot.
With the recent chapters aka the time skip the story went to the garbage heap.
