This novel was wonderful, heartwarming at the same time. The characters were so devoted towards each other trying to fulfill what the other lacks and so on. The story itself is not overly dramatic and avoids any of the usual plot twists that the other novels had. It has its own smooth pace that was just following the flow of the storyline, honestly that part itself was amazing considering that it was just a one way flow of story regarding the ascension to the throne with their affection just sprouting along the way.
It stays true to its plotline and is even somewhat committed especially with how the author makes the characters overcome the obstacles without any unnecessary drama. Coming this much I could even say that it's just your ordinary and typical romance fantasy, without any tags of transmigration or reincarnation, it's ordinary in a way that its predictable and just that, yet this simplicity has its own charm.
Especially with many of the novels that I've read before this, with all of their over the top plot and characters, compared to that this was done in moderation and is honestly like a refreshing spring breeze—nothing shocking, nothing enraging, and nothing to shout about. You simply read, relax, and enjoy your coffee until you reach the happy ending, and it was nice as the books I've read before this makes me so emotionally drained. It was soothing and enjoyable, which provides me a relaxing read without that much of an emotional exhaustion. Overall, it was an amazing and refreshing experience.
my biggest pet peeve in manhwa is when the skin is all gray. not a single person in this series has any undertone and it makes them all look sickly and white walker-y. the story hasn't really surprised me at all either. it's so far a typical not like the other girls type story with a background battle for the throne b-story. priests are corrupt, jealous admirers try to bring down the MC, etc. etc.
