    I think Lemon's lie is just a marketing gimmick to draw readers' attention from the first page (manga clickbait?). It's meant to be ridiculous and didn't have a lot of thoughts put into it. It backfired when author try to flesh out Lemon's character to be a really nice person, which most readers will think bullshit given that lie.
