Sora Yori Takaku, often mistakenly read as Ten Yori Takaku, is a manga created by Akira Miyashita. It was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Playboy from 1995 to 2002 and compiled into 27 volumes.
Initially, the story revolves around a rivalry between two sons of the Devil King, Sora and Yomi. They are dispatched to Earth with the task of bringing their father a pure maiden from Japan for companionship during his retirement. The winner of this challenge will inherit the throne, while the loser faces death.
Over time, Miyashita expanded the narrative in various directions, including cameo appearances by Edajima Heihachi and characters from Sakigake!! Otokojuku after their graduation. The manga is also noted for its graphic and bizarre depictions of sexuality, used primarily for comedic effect.
