    If I had to guess the black smoke is evil miasma that evil beings have. My reasoning for this is the fact Atou and other beings summon/created by the mc also have some of the miasma around them because they are classified as evil aligned. The dark elves will probably start to show more of the miasma as time passes because they're being converted from neutral aligned to evil aligned. I believe all or at least the high ranked evil aligned beings can probably see through or not notice the miasma. This is just me guessing so take it with a grain of salt.

    Coming from the guy who sounds exactly like what twitter mobs would say, that is rich. Pushing your pov, that are shaped by context, time, place and common morality relative to your own as the right one without properly considering the complexities of situation on other places, such as the one in this manga, is just preposterous.

    Incest aside, since that is not our initial focus of conversation...

    The keywords of what you said are "nowdays in most countries". Is the world of this manga "nowdays" and "most countries"? Context matters, man/miss. Did you consider why they, the characters, did it? of the situation they are in? Of the lifespan during their time?

    Also, I didn't ignore your initial point, I even probe at it, tackling on what is the problem of said point in this context, namely its foundation.
