The story begins with Sanda, a second-year middle school student, being attacked with a kitchen knife by his classmate, Fuyumura. Initially bewildered by the situation, Sanda eventually convinces himself that Fuyumura's behavior is just a peculiar phase of puberty and mean-spirited acts. However, this belief is a misunderstanding. In reality, Fuyumura suspects that Sanda belongs to a specific lineage.
