It probably should have end at vol12 or maybe vol12 + chap 99. Most of vol 13 has been kind of a bore, the perfectly good peaceful rock pets were cute for one chapter but overall they're uninteresting.

The series overall is still great but vol13 changes what could otherwise have a been a very tight, satisfying conclusion. The very slow release schedule doesn't help either.

Not even halfway through the first chapter and the pine cone said "Cone-nichiwa." I'm in.

I love how he does the villain thing of not ending the match when he wins but instead of beating the crap out of him to humiliate him he just says that he doesn't get to quit and just goes and gets another weapon and is probably going to teach him or have him fight until they run out of swords it's such a twist but totally in line with the villain move of "this match only ends when I say its end" even after winning over handedly.
