The premise is very interesting and the art is nice. It seems to be developing at a good pace, too. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to like the protagonist very much (he's been built well as a character IMO, it's just my personal preference). Other than that though I'd give it a 8 or 9 at least.
Like others have mentioned before, the entire prophecy thing isn't even mentioned again (as of chapter 11). Also, the first time Yuu fights vampires with in the squad, I expected the vampires to be stronger. Yeah, I know, the demonic weapons made humans stronger, but they said that vampires were 7x stronger and faster. I assumed this was about the normal vampires, and that the higher leveled ones would be even more pro. I guess I wanted the fight to be more thoughtful than a simple charge, slash, and kill. Also, I wish they expanded more on the vampire weapons and the different levels they have. Why is my rating so high then? I'm just biased towards manga where friends are pitted against each other<3. Also, since the plot seems to be just beginning, I'm hoping any other questions I have will be answered whenever appropriate.
Oh god, where to start?
The revenge driven protagonist after he grows up literally being treated as human livestock?
The apathetic vampires who justify destroying the Earth because humans would have done so in the future anyway?
The oh-so-"dark" implications of humans using demonic weapons in a post-apocalyptic world?
And this is all within the first 8 chapters.
Unlike some below namely liquid who doesn't even know what they're talking about anyways judges something with only a few chapters. I hold my judgement until the plot has actually started.
It's the same author for Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu and Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi. If anyone is familiar with his works you know his plots tend to take awhile to work out I guess the term I'm looking for is. He's also not one to pull punches on the blood and gore.
Also with his thing it's the same premise of friend vs friend in that sort of fashion too. The scans are behind but if you've kept up with the raws you'll know that things have started to kick into high gear and the plot is finally moving forward.
Well, there are a few plot holes and some cringe moments e.g. when our MC walks out of hell and immediately meets up with people spouting "he's the chosen one, blah blah" which is totally ignored right after which gets me guessing that even the author regretted drawing that as well. But hey, I like the characters, the story flow, and the premise. There's some hope for this (subjectively) fun shounen-y cliche series if you don't take the nitty gritty too harshly. This feels very similar to Ao no Futsumashi so if you liked this or that, I'm sure you'll find some fun with the other.
the review from liquidsin is wrong.
Even in the first chapter it was told that the vampires wear armbands to protect themselves from the sun. And in recent chapters it even shows that they can survive a bullet to the head. Not to mention the 7 times stronger and faster than humans.
I liked the manga so far, above average for sure but it makes me want to read more, i like this kind of protagonist.
