I really dislike how all reason goes out the window during heat in omegaverse stories, because 99% of the time it's paired with rape...like here. Apparently, it's bad when the antagonist's goons (try to) do it, but totally OK when Alec does it. A wholesome story doesn't need dubcon as an inciting incident! Be more creative! Stop ruining the mood!

Souichirou's OCD is only relevant as a joke, and his desire to not date or get married likewise disappear the moment he sees Alec. Personality? Job? Friends? What are those? He just goes along with Alec to his country, no second thoughts.

The art is pretty and Alec's mother was great, but those aren't enough to compensate for the rest. Too bad that the manga started off with rape, because the love scenes that came after it were cute, if unremarkable.

This needs a second volume. Because there's only one volume completed I'm left with half a story. On top of that it left on a note that makes me sad🥺 I want them to be happy! Give me my happy ending!

Ok. Where to start with this one... it’s so bad. The main character is supposed to have some kind of OCD but it’s just a very poorly used plot device. But the thing that really bothers me is the fetishistic way the love interest is treated. As all too commonly happens in manga here is the brown character from some made-up country. And even though the rest of the story seems to be taking place in modern (or even future) Japan, this place is full of out-dated plainly weird tropes. We’ve also got a complete lack of consistency. The lover’s name seems to be Arabic (or something poorly pretending to be), but his brother’s name is Wilfredo. Also, the people here are so stupid they don’t even know what the sexes are! Don’t worry though, it’s because they’re a country almost completely full of elite Alphas (sarcasm intended). So basically instead of picking a real country and learning about it, or even making up something that wasn’t full of outdated fetishistic tropes (and linguistic inconsistency) the mangaka just slapped together some Aladdin-looking rip-off. Brown people are sexy, but they’re too dumb to know what the genders are. Good job, sensei. Well, at least the art is really nice.

This is like a fairy tale full of fluffiness and relaxation. Alec is cool, a little dumb and whipped, Souichirou is independent and cute. It’s satisfying to see these two get together as a fated pair. Also, I love LOVE the idea of a secured omega paradise where omegas can fully enjoy themselves without having to face risks of being attacked.
However, the couple’s first encounters were a little rushed, I wish there had been more emotional development.

triggers/warnings (as they appear in the story)

    -poorly depicted mysophobia/germophobia (explained below)
-slight dubcon (omega goes into unexpected heat, attracts an alpha into fucking him, and at first he's uncomfy but bc he's an omega it feels good kinda thing)
    -kidnapping
-slight??? bro-con??? it's almost nothing but if you're very sensitive to those themes there may be a little bit
-attempted rape/sexual assault, which is immediately subverted by
-puking, though it's not graphic and more ~comedic

and now more spoilers bc i need to pick some Beef™ before i get into anything i liked lol

the omega's germophobia is soooo clearly an attempt at jumping onto 10 count's mysophobia/disability-as-a-love-story bandwagon, and it's handled just about as well as 10 count's horrifically problematic attempt. the difference in here is that it's barely even mentioned at all, which is about par for the course in terms of any sort of disability representation (awful representation vs straight up erasure amirite??).

the entire bit about him being a clean freak literally could be taken out and nothing about the story changes. i mean it. skip the pages/panels wherever it mentions he likes cleanliness and the story is still completely understandable. sensei could've easily explained parts even minutely influenced by the idea of him liking things clean with literally any other excuse. he needs to throw up? he feels sick bc he's literally being assaulted. doesn't wanna have sex? it's bc he doesn't wanna have sex.

really it could be as simple as that and this story would be all the better for it

that outta the way, now for me to get into what i say on the tin ^^^ lol

sensei constructs a fascinating premise for an omegaverse. it's a world where omegas are treated with dignity, and are even given the places/necessities they need to stay safe. also, the whole idea of a political figure/someone of royalty hooking up with what should've been a one-night-stand is exactly the kinda cliche drama that manga can excel at.

if it has the right time and pacing to do so.

bc this is only one volume, the manga obviously does not—can not—achieve that, which is so disappointing. though souichirou (the omega) is a bit bland in comparison, he stands pretty well against the cast. alec (the alpha) is a hunky sweetheart—a himbo through and through with a heart of gold. he doesn't pressure souichirou into anything he really doesn't want, and at the climax of the story, he'd do anything for souichirou, even if his status is at stake. that's the kinda romantic drama i live for. and not only is the main couple is adorable, the world sensei built—from japan to salmail—has interesting implications for omegaverse applied internationally, and the supporting cast is quite likeable. all this added to the fact that the art style is beautiful and i love the artistic/design choices that sensei made.

it's a shame that it wasn't told as well as i really think it could've been bc of the fact that this is a single volume manga trying to hop on a fad that wasn't even good to begin with. even one more volume and a bit of rewrite, and i feel like the possibilities could be better explored and way more depth would be given to the story.

One of my favorites! Alec is so sweet, affectionate, and overprotective. It’s uncommon for Alphas to act like that bc they’re naturally aggressive. The conflicts are pretty weak, but the drama is well done. The ending is very beautiful. Oh and I love the flowers as a background. I also wanna see the side story of Alec and Souichirou‘s brothers.

This manga is bad on so many levels, I won't even try to make a review of it, basically I agree with everything OmNom said before. Only read this one, if you really don't have anything else.
