Chapter 6 and we already have political intrigue. It is impressive how these kinds of "noble" families don't eat themselves inside out.

The complexity of the situation is showing, I can't defend how the Kagemoris killed so many people in the village, but it may be that the situation isn't so simple as just a bunch of murderers killing innocent people.

One thing I always loved in Arakawa-sensei's writing style is how even the villains, even some of the crazy, are made with a kind of "levity to them. When the action starts they can get pretty insane, but she can weave a casual behavior to them that is so interesting, it makes them look like people, that can be pretty crazy and cartoonishly but not so unrealistic that you don't believe they can exist.
