Alright, so while I do, in fact, enjoy this series, I find myself mentally criticizing the MC on basically all his choices and actions. He wants to hide his powers? Well he did a real bad job doing that. Next best, he wants a powerful esper to protect him? Well he's making it real hard for that to happen.
Now, I understand extenuating circumstances and saving saving lives, etc, but it's his choices that found him in situations where he needed to use his powers for the greater good. And while he was using them, he did a piss poor job hiding them. I don't think he could have been more flashy. He hid stuff from his esper (who obviously found out because of how bad he hides it) and was careless when he could have hidden it.
So I don't really like the characters too much, but everything else is fun so far at ~20 chapters in
