The problem with this manga unlike other stories you mentioned is that there's never been an interesting dynamic or sideplot going on, it's been a straight shot towards Haru romancing Karen and everything else just felt like an obstacle in the road. Even with 1/3rds of a chapter it's been going on since 2019, the author's had plenty of time to follow up on other plot threads like Haru's origins instead of treating it as another way to stall out the hook up.
BokuYaba as you mentioned, had more things going on (Yamada's insecurities, Ichikawa's, the other students) but nobody in this manga is that interesting and they're mostly serving as spectators for Haru and Karen relationship. That's why this manga's quality dipped after they hooked up because there's nothing else interesting about it and there was a total failure to establish any other kind of plot. Cool if the author decides to do it now but the people aren't wrong to be displeased.
