the way i see it, tinasha is playing along because that guy is dangerous and clearly the main villain. doubt she genuinely likes him. notice how she only undoes the binding spell when lanak threatened to kill him. it was probably placed on him during their kiss so that she can safely stand between lanak and the MC to prevent either of them from fighting. without binding him first he would've ran straight for the portal that was opening up.

or alternatively, she does like him and MC is a cuck. either way, things are kinda interesting now.

I'm getting old so I always feel like these backstories are not particularly original anymore. If the author had decided to limit it to some flashbacks it would have been better. We already figured out, sick mother giving him chocolate as his only good memory, growing up poor, bullied, fueled by anger and resentment, climbed to the top to be the one stepping on others.
