    @ZeroEnitity: "Isekai" just means other world (or thereabouts, I do not speak Japanese), it has nothing to do with the relative strength of the protagonist. Other world stories long predate their current popularity in manga and light novels. Dante and Orpheus were not overly powerful when they broached the planes of existence and entered the realms of the dead/damned. Alice was not overpowered when she entered Wonderland, nor was Dorothy during her sojourn in Oz (though one could argue their respective otherness gave them distinct advantages). To tack closer to our discussion material here, most Shoujo isekai do not feature protagonists empowered with godly abilities (though they are often gifted with privileged information since by and large their new worlds are identical to their favorite book/game). The whole "overpowered MC" is simply a tired sub-trope of the broader "other world" narrative device.
