I'm still sticking with it, but I think I get you. Last few chapters/arcs since the Clown Demon have been pretty low stakes with simple wins. I get that the current "lesson" is to show that the characters need to chill out in their pursuit of their goals, but so far, Airen has been passing every test or obstacle easily, and even Brett overcame his insecurities in like half a chapter
