I'm feeling a weird combination of really liking the characters and how they're dealing with the situation, although only a few of them like Aaron are very dynamic, and ALSO more or less liking the individual events, while dealing with the fact that I think the actual plot setup and reveals are unbelievable as a gamer, bordering on immersion breaking.

You can enjoy sport media or sport adjacent media. Hell you can make sport media into a performative piece like WWE it's not real sport but it isn't supposed to be it's story telling in the form of a sport. That's why we love sports manga because it tells a fantastic story using sports. Not to mention that there are some sports I like to watch but not be a part in, like power slap competitions, or sports I do but I'm not as good as the people who dedicate there lives to it. I love sitting at a bar and watching the Redbull channel which has shit I would never have thought of. We have enough to hate in this world, don't hate on the good stuff.
