This promise was emphatised to the point to get a flashback just for it. i finished the manga a few days after the first episode aired so around end of october 2021. i always thought that the ending was bullshit and that the mc was a bitch. in march 2024, the mc is still a wimpy bitch BUT i understand the ending a bit more. imagine seeing all the fucked up things we humans do, prettys sure anyone would come to the conclusion that we should be erased.
