although, you could argue that the MC's doppelganger would also "die" if he lost, so he has plenty of motivation to win himself, and also for us to feel a little conflicted.
I hope they talk more next chapter, I'm really curious about how they would solve the situation with perfect info. If the version of him in the past would just give up his life for her, if he'd pretend to fight her and throw at the last second, if he'd just straight up want to kill her anyway.
