Uehara-kun dreams of becoming a manga artist and has a passion for drawing two-dimensional characters. However, his aspirations face a setback when an editor criticizes his work as too dull. The following day, while contemplating giving up on his dream, Miyamoto Niina, a gyaru from his class, spots his manuscript. She then starts a pseudo-romance that feels unsettlingly real, all to help him enhance his manga. Thus begins a tale of a budding manga artist intertwined with an adolescent romantic comedy.
This manga is great, the chemistry between the characters is awesome, the more you read the better it becomes, the artstyle is top tier, the characters are distinct and well drawn. The comedy and romance is fantastic
I’m honestly not sure where all these one star reviews are coming from. If I had to guess it’s from people who decided to give a negative review after reading 1 chapter.
Admittedly, the story starts out mediocre and a typical ecchi manga, but as it gradually progresses, it begins to focus on the characters growth, personality, and personal journey. It doesn’t lose its ecchi element but it becomes less of a focus, the characters development takes precedence.
Though the story is not very deep, it is entertaining and surprisingly mildly emotionally stirring at times.
Also, the art is pretty great and improves the story and fanservice if I’m being honest.
I wouldn’t give “Akira Ryuji”s review too much thought. Just based on his lists he gives out bad ratings like candy for no reason.
