Long ago, a land was divided into four countries: Sou, Kou, Do, and Ah. The King of Ah married a woman from Kou and later another from Do, forging a fragile alliance between the three nations. When the Second Queen gave birth to a son, the King discarded the ailing First Queen and her daughter, Aki, relegating them to the depths of the Palace.
But fate had other plans for Princess Aki. She encountered a slave named Hakusei, who possessed unusual golden hair and sky-blue eyes. He pledged his life to her and assisted her in training in the Six Arts under the guidance of the mysterious merchant Seitetsu. However, when Aki outshone the Prince during a hunt, trying to gain her father's recognition, she inadvertently sparked a war by dishonoring Do and drove the Second Queen to poison Aki's mother.
With only her loyal companion Hakusei by her side, Aki was exiled to the small country of Kou, vowing to return to Ah one day for revenge. But standing against the powerful allied nations of Do and Ah, will Aki and Hakusei survive long enough to fulfill her vow?
