The story itself is very easy to understand for straight audiences while maintaining relatibility for people who have or are currently going through similar experiences.
Overall it's a pretty meaningful short story, being gay is just something he has to to live with. There will be people who won't understand, it's okay.
For anyone who might be worried about his gayness being the only substance of this story, the mc is just like everyone else, the only difference is he just happens to not like women.
