That and the theme of inherited will are crucial to Yamato's character. To find freedom within himself when it was denied from him outside his body is perfect writing. To then put his life on the line to follow through with the inherited will of Oden is perfect. It is no coincidence that this arc also introduces another trans character, Kiku, set as Yamato's direct parallel in the bath scene (this shit is so obvious I can't believe I have to explain it).

This one was harsh, but it fits the theme... How many loops at this point? Imagine seeing the exact same thing in circle for months, like, you have to watch the same movie each day, knowing tomorrow will be a copy of today... I get the "walking flesh" quote here. Brutal way of saying it, but accurate tho, based on what MC have to live in circle.
