    It’s sorta obvious why the Hero killed the Demon Lord. As we already know with Nacht, that inside her body is the Soul of Nacht herself but also the Soul of the Japanese Guy and they fight for control at times when their ideals are opposite. The same was likely the same for them, during the fight, the Hero’s reincarnated soul lost control to the Hero’s real soul and killed the demon lord even though the reincarnated souls were best friends, the power of friendship lost the fight and was killed. It makes sense really.
