Grappler Baki

This series conveys movement beautifully, so the fighting is actually interesting and exciting to read, you wont find characters standing around shouting "blah blah fist of blah blah" smoke/fire/lighting shoots out of their hands, the fights are SEMI realistic, early on they are somewhat grounded on reality, as the series goes on it basically turns into superhuman fighting WITHOUT "ki/chi/energy" bullshit, just a lot of broscience and incredible resilience. This series is centered around the titular character and his journey, which basically consits of becoming stronger by fighting stronger oponents and training very hard, however, even fights against what would be faceless shallow jobbers in your standard shounen action, FEEL tense, and the outcome seems undecided. The story is full of great tense and hype moments, and features 2 memorable characters, the MC, who, despite having a very basic shounen MC goal, you actually get to like him and cheer him on when you hear his story (at least I did) and come to appreciate his training and perseverance. The second character a very special man (I dont want to spoil anyone so I won't go into details) who makes every page he appears in, pure unadulterated HYPE and comedy, after you read it, you will know who I'm talking about. 100% reccommend this, even if you HATE action shounen/martial arts stories, I think you'll love this.

i really prefer the mangakas more raw drawings in the earlier parts of this manga to later series he have made

for the sake of them giving birth to a fighter worthy of fighting/killing him
that is what most of these 42 volumes are about
and it works
you mostly read this hoping that this man [yujiro] shows up and starts killing ppl
and he does

If you are a fan of martial arts or fighting in any sense, do yourself a favour and check out baki. The first manga series here is very similar to the anime, and while the anime does cover the whole storyline, these volumes are worth it for some stories and characters that aren't included in the anime.
