The original is the light novel not the anime as the anime changes the story from the light novel drastically while this manga is a more faithful adaptation.

Secondly if a character gets so powerful that they're basically a god that is generally how shounen series operate. Its all about the arms race of superpowers and power levels where a bigger threat will always come along for the MC to get stronger and fight them.
