    It's quite simple. It's a tragic story with a tragic beginning and a tragic end. Surrounded by this we have: Complex characters (our villain killed an entire village and in the end died protecting one, while Our protagonist does exactly the opposite) Several absurd themes that can make you analyze certain situations in life, more direct themes like religion (which is something that is talked about a lot in the manga)
