Ten years ago, the magus Kiritsugu Emiya rescued a single survivor from a catastrophic event. As the boy wept in joy, he declared that by saving him, Kiritsugu had also saved himself. The young survivor vowed to become a hero dedicated to saving others.
Five years after his adoptive father's death, Shirō Emiya becomes entangled in a deadly conflict among seven magi, known as Masters. Each Master commands a legendary hero's spirit, called a Servant, in a battle for the Holy Grail, which promises to grant one wish.
In this struggle, Shirō confronts the shadows of his past and seeks the path to fulfill his dreams and shape his future. Through the power of the Holy Grail, his wish will be realized, as a hero of justice must always have an evil to overcome.
This story is based on the second route of the 2004 visual novel.
