It's like a kinda sorta remake of Zero Apocalypse, but without the monsters, students, school, female love interest, & Harara is a man named Takeru who is not Kakugo's brother.
The art is totally different, but this character named Douchi Ren looks infinitely more like Kakugo than Kakugo himself.
An excellent manga that carries over tone and pacing of the author's previous work (Shigurui) into the world of science fiction. There is initially little speech, instead the author acts as concise narrator to the plot. The protagonist is concerned with justice but his uncompromising nature will likely take as many lives as it will save. It is not as graphic as Shigurui, but nevertheless very violent. Like Usamaru Furuya (Litchi Hikari Club) the artist includes bishounen elements which contrast the hellish setting, in my opinion this is a good aesthetic. If you enjoy a dark atmosphere, novel-like pacing and a somewhat questionable sense of justice this is well worth your time.
