Genuinely a thoughtful and moving story looking seriously at sexual trauma, religious trauma, and gender identity in modern-day Japan. There are some very interesting characters -- Leah in particular is a real fave, and Priest has totally been inspired by Allen Walker. However, the artstyle really skeeves me out 🙁 everyone looks simultaneously six-years-old in the face and twenty-years-old in the body. It's especially egregrious when a character called Mommy appears, and I kid you not, she's a toddler. The vibe I got from the art was Klee from Genshin (yeah :/) and given the kinds of story this manga is telling, I can't take that in good faith. I've checked out.
Manga is really good, and does get really dark too
The beginning chapter 1 is an extereme turn off, the kid recites bible shit and is like emotionless whereas his adopter is a ladies man despite him being a church person, he tells the kid to pursue love because of some shit. It has an extremely generic intro, but at the end of chapter 1 and continuing onwards, the mc has changed significantly, his personality is now is so much bearable, in fact i would say he is the favorite character alongside the femc, as they are different from one another, but are able to mesh extremely well together because of the writing.
In regards to how dark it gets, it gets much more dark after part 2, after that, u will see what i mean
Overall read this manga, the first chapter may be cringe, but you will never regret reading it all the way through, the writing becomes significantly better in chapter 2 and following. If you want a manga that has church people finally not be the bad guys and fight demons Read this manga, and you wont regret it
Chapter 25 and 26 and fucked up, its unique in how its fucked up, but bruh its fucked up.
